He spent one year in post-graduate work, receiving the Master of Arts degree,then took up the study of theology in PrincetonSeminary, graduating with the Class of 1896. InApril of that year he was licensed to preach by thePresbytery of New Brunswick at Princeton, NewJersey, and the following June was ordained to theministry by the Presbytery of Chester at Phoenix-ville, Pennsylvania, receiving also his first chargeas Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at thatplace, a pulpit which he continues to fill.
