Wythe County,Virginia, was named forhim. On a little farther,on the same side of the street, is the old courthouse ; and almost opposite, on the right-hand sideof the street, is the historic powder horn. In that old tavernmany important meetings were held in olden daysby men who were famous or later became then, as one comes to the end of the widestreet, he sees in front of him the heavy stonewhich marks the spot where the old capitol stood,in which the House of Burgesses met for nearlyeighty years, and ia which Patrick Henry deliveredhis Caesar-Brutus speech. Of this we shallhear again. One other house, a quaint little cottage, we mustnot overlook in Williamsburg. Far and wideit is known as the **Audrey House.
