Pterodactyl flying reptile, illustration. Pterodactylus fossils are mainly found in Germany, dating to 150 to 148 million years ago, during the Late Jurassic. This flying reptile was a carnivorous predator, feeding on fish and other small animals. It flew with wings formed from a membranous structure stretched between the ankles and a lengthened finger.
