Theseclusion of women in India was breaking down, the status of women inChina was being reformed. So, characterized by the most pronounced inter-nationalism, the work appeared as the great healing agency of a sad oldworld. Altogether there were few of the congresses of the Exposition thatbrought more of the tidings of past progress or promised more for the futureof mankind.
