1920s colour postcard view, from Metropole Hotel, North Promenade, above moonlight night sea, Blackpool Illuminations, UK

A picture postcard, entitled 'North Promenade Blackpool Illuminations', and bearing the number 93721 JV, so possibly A Valentines card. The colour-tinted shot likely dates to around 1925, when the Illuminations returned after World War 1. The Princess Parade, left foreground, was officially opened by Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyl, in 1912. The North Shore Promenade was widened in 1924 and the tram lines moved from the carriageway (as seen here) to ease traffic congestion. A view from an upper window of the Metropole Hotel.
