HMS Atherstone returned to Portsmouth, UK on 23/12/15 after a long Gulf deployment.
HMS Atherstone (M38) is one of eight Hunt Class mine warfare vessels in the Royal Navy and she returned to Portsmouth, UK on the 23rd December 2015 after three and a half years away, protecting British and International interests in the Gulf. It was announced on 27/10/17 that the ship's refit is being suspended and that she will be decommissioned at Portsmouth on 14/12/17.
