A pair of flintlock pistols, Turkish Balkan, 1st half of the 19th century. Smooth bores in 14 mm calibre. Barrels with flats on the sides merging to round. Each has four brass filled marks on the breech. Iron flintlocks with beautifully chiselled floral designs (one cock screw broken). Wooden stocks are carved with vines and ebonised over their entire surfaces and have silver wire inlays on the butts. Nickel-silver furniture with high quality relief.
