The Port of Rotterdam is the largest seaport in Europe, and the world's largest outside Asia Its scale is simply mind boggling, covering 105 square kilometres in area and stretching over a distance of 40 kilometres from the North Sea to the International Cruise Terminal and City Centre; if you arrive by sea, as we did, it takes well over 3 hours to do this. Along the way, you will cruise past many refineries, container ports, industrial complexes, fuel storage plants and - as seen here - myriads of wind turbines organised into separate wind farms. This is why the rest of the Netherlands seems relatively industry free - all of it seems to be concentrated here!
