Niepokalanow monastery, Poland


Statue of Saint Joseph with the Baby Jesus. Niepokalanow - City of the Immaculate Mother of God, apr. 40 km to the west from Warsaw, Poland - consists of the Franciscan church and monastery founded in 1927 by Father Maximilian Kolbe. Father Kolbe was arrested by the Germans and taken to Auschwitz during the World War 2, where he gave his life for another inmate. He was canonized as a saint-martyr of the Catholic Church in 1982.
