Bull. 557- INSECT PESTS AND THEIR CONTROL 987 The Imported Cabbage Web Worm (Hellula undalis, Fab.).—Thisworm feeds upon cabbage, turnips and other similar crops, spinning a webunder which it retires when not feeding. Treatment.—Same as for cabbage Bull. 23, p. 54. The Imported Cabbage Worm {Pontia rupee, Linn.).—Of all the insectson cabbage, this is theworst pest. It is the larvaeof the white butterflyseen fluttering about overfields of cabbage duringspring and summer. Treatment.—Same asfor cabbage Ent. Cir. 60. The Melon Aphis(Aphis gossypii, Glov.).—This plant louse feeds notonly on melons but oncotton, strawberries and anumber of other plants.
