Winchester, Hampshire, UK. 11th September 2022. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on 8th September 2022, the interior of Winchester Cathedral has been lit up in purple, with pictures of the late Queen, flowers and prayers on display. Many people came to quietly pay their respects today and to leave their tributes, by signing a book of condolence or by lighting candles. The country is in a period of national mourning until her funeral.
