Spc. 5 James C. McCloughan is inducted into the Medal of Honor Hall of Heroes during a ceremony Aug. 1, 2017, at the Pentagon in Washington, McCloughan was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Donald Trump July 31, 2017. McCloughan distinguished himself during 48 hours of close-combat fighting against enemy forces May 13 to 15, 1969. At the time, then-Pfc.
