Pheromone control against Apple Codling Moth (Cydia pomonella) in a Swiss orchard

These little capsules release pheromones into the air of he apple orchard which disrupt the codling moth's breeding cycle. The exact reason is not clear, but the pheromones are believed confuse the male moths so that they are unable to locate the females.
