No reproduction, of course, can do fulljustice to a negative of this kind. There is an amount of detailin the spray which it is impossible to preserve. It is moreovera very difficult matter to make the negative without specialapparatus, for, as Mr. Roberts writes us, there is great dangerin photographing a well undergoing the process of torpedoing,not only to the camera, but also to the operators if theyapproach too near the flying Erastus T.
