Black cherry plum - Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra' has bright pink spring flowers are contrasted by dark almost black branches. It is a small tree with striking deep-purple oval leaves and branches that are blackish-purple. Gorgeous single pale blush-pink flowers are some of the first to appear in spring. Late, in autumn, the leaves turn a pretty red-orange color.
