Legendary red house Schantzska huset at Stortorget square in Old Town district, Stockholm, was built in 1650.
The legend says that each white brick surrounding the windows of Schantzska huset represents a person being decapitaded during Stockholm’s bloodbath in 1520. November 7th-10th, 94 people of mostly noble birth were killed on the orders of Danish conquerer king Kristian II (Christian II).
