The Chapel of Rest, or Cemetary Chapel, or Mortuary Chapel, as the building is variously known, was designed and built by Sara Losh in The design was inspired by the rediscovered Early Christian oratory of Saint Piran at Perranzabuloe in Cornwall, which caused great excitement when excavated from the sand dunes in 1835.
