Protester with message for Minister Ed Miliband at Green Whitehall protest supports Vestas workers occupying wind power factory
A hundred or so people turned up at a demonstration organised by the Campaign Against Climate Change (CCC) outside the offices of the Department for Energy and Climate Change in Whitehall Place following the decision by some workers at Vestas Blades UK to occupy the Isle of Wight factory. They called on the Government to take action to preserve green jobs at Britain's only manufacturer of wind turbine blades. Speakers included Phil Thornhill, CCC National Coordinator, Darren Johnson, Green Party and LIberal Democrat MP Simon Hughes. London, 22 July 2009
