CULTURE.âThe soilfor radishes should bevery rich, light, and mel-low, well broken by dig-ging, as their tender andmild qualities depend much upon their rapid growth. For very early use, sow in gentle hot-beds in February, and in theopen air as soon as the ground can be worked, at intervals of ten or twelve days for a succession,as long as they may be wanted. The winter varieties should be sown in August, and lifted beforesevere frost. RAWSONS SCARLET CONICAL. For Market Gardeners there is no scarlet, short top, uniform shape. âThe best forcing radish, it has a veryshort top, is of conical shape and a brilliant scarlet color.
