A \"Neuhollander von Port Jackson\". Port Jackson encompasses Sydney harbour and was among the first areas where colonists came into sustained contact with aboriginal people at the end of the 18th century and early nineteenth century. The European discovery of the area and people was led by Captain James Cook in 1770, the first colony (later to become Sydney) was started there in 1788."
