View NW of Trethevy Quoit portal dolmen, Cornwall: a Neolithic chambered tomb aligned E-W with burial chamber, antechamber and massive granite capstone. The angle of the slab dates from around 1850 when the back stone of the chamber collapsed inwards and the capstone came to rest slightly askew on two of the side slabs. There are traces of a surrounding earthen barrow which may have covered only the lower parts of the chamber uprights. Early 5th/late 4th millennium BC. Also known as (King) Arthur's Quoit.
