The Tower of the Winds was built around 50 BC and stands nowadays in the heart of Athens. The 12 meter tall structure was a bell tower with eight edges and eight sun dials. Eight friezes on top show the eight gods of the wind and characterizes them for example with hail, rain or fruits. Der Turm der Winde im Zentrum Athens wurde um 50 vor Christus als achteckiger Uhrturm gebaut. An seinen acht Seiten zeigten acht Sonnenuhren die Zeit an. Darüber befanden sich Friese der acht Wind-Gätter, deren Charakter mit Hagel, Regen, Früchten und anderen Eigenschaften gezeigt wird.
