The dial itself is dated 1616, and it is thus theoldest dated dial we have met with in Scot-land. There is an almost similar dial lyingin front of Callendar House, , Midlothian. — There arethree dials at Oxenford Castle. Thefirst stands in the centre of the garden;it is a plain circular horizontal dial, witha marble dial-plate. The second stands.
