Adwa village, Tigray Region, Ethiopia. Two female workers inside an old grain mill in the village of Atwa, about 11 kilometers from the Abba Garima monastery. The Garima Gospels of Ethiopia are the oldest illustrated manuscripts of Christianity. Experts placed the work in AD 1100, but radiocarbon dating has indicated that the documents were created between 330 and 650 AD.
