Thomas J. Flannery Jr. coll., Chicago. Mayorcas coll., 38 Jermyn Street, London (by 2/1984) [both pieces acquired & then rejoined?]. England, Greater London, London, Christie's, Feb. 12, 1999, lot 313. Inscriptions: Inscriptions in central field below each figure (L to R): S. P[etrus?], Saint andrea, S. Jehen evang[elius?] & saint bartholomew Interspersed between arcade with pilaster divides, 4 apostles with inscriptions below identifying each; L to R, St. Peter holding key & book; St. Andrew holding cross & book; St. John the Evangelist holding chalice; St. Bartholomew holding knife & book This is just a section of what must have been 1 or 2 long hangings. A larger piece (or this & another) was in London in February 1984 (Cavallo). The panel has been vertically cut & reattached with reweaving & patching. It previously probably depicted all 12 apostles (auction cat.). It appears French & Co. cut the panel in half, selling each part of the tapestry with 2 apostles: left, SS. Peter & Andrew & right, SS. John & Bartholomew (Dimitrova). French & Co. stock sheet in archive, 4314 Christie's (London), Mayorcas collection (Feb. 12, 1999), 132, 133,
