This will cover thejunction of the ends and yet give themetal play, so that it can be slipped overthe hand without difficulty (fig. 91). Theoutside of the bracelet may be hammeredinto a rounded or softly beveled section,. Fig. 91. and the surface afterward decorated withchasing-tools. This work will, of course,be done upon pitch. The inside of thebracelet must be scraped and filed cleanand smooth and rounded, and all rough-nesses removed from every part of thework with the Water of Ayr stone. Itis now ready for whitening, stoning, andpolishing. This done, the stone can beset and the final polishing given. When, ^S9 Bracelets unless you wish to oxidize the work, whichcan be done as described elsewhere, thewhole is finished. To Make a Hinged Bracelet.—Cut anellipse of the size required out of stoutsheet brass (fig. 92). This is to serve asa guide when bending the band of thebracelet. Take two lengths of squaresilver wire and make two ovals to fit
