Detroit, Michigan - Statues of French explorers who paved the way for the European settlement of Michigan. The statues of Cadillac, Marquette, La Salle, and Richard were carved by Julius Theodore Melchers. They are on the campus of Wayne State University. They were part of Detroit's original city hall until it was demolished in 1961.
