Miller's Cornfield (or simply 'the Cornfield'), Antietam National Battlefield, Maryland, United States.


The site close to Sharpsburg commemorates the American Civil War Battle of Antietam(17th September 1862). The battle is the bloodiest single-day battle in American history, with a combined tally of 22,717 dead, wounded, or missing. The action at the Cornfield alone accounted for almost 8,000 soldiers, killed or wounded in less than 2 hours.
