Blue Moonflower (Ipomea Leari). | This charming novelty is particularly valuable as being in striking contrast with the well-known Magnolia Moon flower described above. The habit of growth, freedom of bloom, and form of flowers is the same, but the color is clear, satiny blue, barred with fine crimson. 15 cts. each; 2 for 25 cts. the true moonflower,—ipomea noctiflora. The Gooskflower {Aristoloehia Girjas Sturtevanti) is a native of Guatemala, where all vegetation grows like magic. This new vine climbs remarkably fast, and its bloom is a great curiosity. At the World's Fair it attracted much attention ; later thousands of peo- ple thronged daily to see " The Wonderful Goose- flower" blooming in Washington Park. When in full bloom a strong vine bears from twenty-five to fifty huge, grotesque flowers of the shape shown in our illustration. They are usually about eleven or twelve inches long, not including the tail-like ap- pendage two or three feet in length. Aside from its interest as a wonderful freak of nature, the vine's large, handsome foliage makes it one of the most valuable climbers for porch or trellis. It should be planted, however, where the strong odor of the flowers will not be
