Tarsi shorter than the middle toe, robust, andcovered in front with small scales. Toes three, very long, and rather slender; the outer toe longer thanthe inner, and both free at their bases ; the claws long, compressed, and slightly curved. The type of this division is an inhabitant of Chili. P. Mitchelii (Fras.) Proc. Zool. Soc. 1844, p. 157., Zool. Typ. pi. f Mr. L. Fraser gave two names in 1844 for this division; viz.
