Members of the French Republic, Regiment Du Service Militaire Adapte De Polynesie Francaise, present the colors during the playing of the French National Anthem during the Bazeilles Day Ceremony in Pirae, Tahiti, French Polynesia, Aug. 31, 2022. The ceremony honored the events of the Franco-Prussian War in 1870, when French Marines stood up to a force of Bavarians who outnumbered the French 10 to one. Taking place in the French Village of Bazeilles, the battle is considered one of the first occurrences of urban warfare.
