The interest of the society is concen- trated on the coming fall flower show. The committee in charge, of which Will- iam Munro, of the Crocker estate, is chairman, reported favorable progress. There has been some difficulty in find- ing floor space for the many exhibitors. The committee reported the souvenir programs ready for the press, the quar- ter cards distributed, the floor scheme adopted, a long list of patrons with lib- eral subscriptions and an early sale of tickets. There is no doubt that the ilower show will be a great success, be- ing in the hands of able managers. At the meeting of the society an invitation ?was received from the Menlo Park Floral Society, to attend that society's show at Menlo Park, October 31 to November 2. A feature of the Menlo Park flower show will be a barbecue. Various Notes. Julius Eppstein, of the California Plorists, had an ela:borate table deco- ration at the Family Club last week. There were fifty guests seated at a table which bounded a miniature repro- duction of Golden Gate park. Over four sets of elaborate swinging gates was the inscription, "Travers ; The park itself was a skillful creation of lawns, swimming pools, driveways, and beds of chrysanthemums, cornflow- •ers, cosmos and pansies.
