An officer's small-sword, Central Europe, 18th century Double-edged thrusting blade of flattened hexagonal section (somewhat pitted) with remnants of brass-inlaid gadroon decoration on both sides at the forte. Brass hilt with a finely perforated guard plate bearing floral decoration in relief (knucklebow soft-soldered). Fluted pommel and a grip wound with corded brass wire.
