Linaria ruhrifolia, Galium tennissimiim, G. setaceum, G. murale, VaiUantia hispida, Campanuln Erinus. Specularia falcata. The composition of the petrophyte vegetation varies considerably according to the conditions of the different localities. It depends on the geological nature of the rock, the elevation, conditions of light and humidity, supply of humus, etc. As an example of the vegetation on limestone we may add some notes regarding the rocks at the extreme point of Capo Greco, 8 April 190

As an example of the vegetation on limestone we may add some notes regarding the rocks at the extreme point of Capo Greco, 8 April 1905: Celsia Arctnrus grew sparsely in crevices. Aristohchia. Fig. 102. (irowth of Bosea ci/pria at the Village of Hag. Epiktitos. parvifolia, copiously; Galium canum (not yet in bloom) numerous, Hyoseyamus aureus, fairly numerous in fissures difficult of access, Seduni litorum and Sideritis romma subsp. curvidens, copious. In clefts in the hmestone precipice capping the hilly ridge above Heptakomi I found, 17 April: Speeidaria falcata, Convolvulus coelesyriacus, copious, C. oleaefoUus, numerous, C. sicuhis, common, Andrachne tekphioides, in different places, Ceterach officinuncm, in several places, Bosea cypria, fairly numerous (also planted in hedges in the village), Galium canum, copious, G. setaceum. numerous, Hippocrepis unisili- quosa, scarce. On an excursion the following day to Yuti, a towering limestone height (252 m.) not far from Heptakomi, commanding a fine view of the sea to the North, I gathered in the crevices: Linum nodiflormn, Zlzyphora capitata, fairly numerous, Andropogon distachyus, in several places, Ruta halepensis subsp. bracteosa, copious on the top of the hill. For comparison with these notes from the limestone region a list (drawn up 15 May 1905) of the predominating species in the vegetation of the sandstone rocks at Ktima (Paphos) is added: Ruta halepensis subsp. bracteosa, numerous, Celsia Areturus, numerous. Sileiie fruticosn, copious, Ballota integri
