Southport, Merseyside, UK 08/05/2018. UK Weather. Canada geese, now considered a pest in the UK, with ducklings take an evening swim in the Marine lake in calm conditions. Skies have cleared after rain in late afternoon with temperatures falling away to near normal. The Canada Goose was first introduced as an ornamental bird on lakes but considerable numbers of them became wild. It is a large brown goose with a black head. The Canada goose is a large wild goose species with a black head and neck, white cheeks, white under its chin, and a brown body. Native to arctic and temperate regions of North America, its migration occasionally reaches northern Europe.
