WESTERN PACIFIC (May 22, 2017) Master-at-Arms 1st Class Omar Ortega (front), from Miami, leads Republic of Korea Navy ship Gwanggaeto the Great’s (DDH 971) visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) team while they practice tactical boarding maneuvers aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DD 108) during a bilateral training exercise between the United States and the Republic of Korea aboard Wayne E. Meyer. The Navy has patrolled the Indo-Asia-Pacific routinely for more than 70 years promoting regional peace and security.
