, Flossenbuerg, Bavaria, Germany - Concentration camp memorial Flossenbuerg, remains of the detention building erected in 1940, place for arbitrary individual hatred, torture and executions. The most prominent victim Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer. History: The supply of large National Socialist construction sites by local quarry owners drew the attention of the SS to the granite deposits in Flossenbuerg. 1938 The construction of the forced labour camp begins. By April 1945, 100,000 prisoners had passed through the camp or one of its nearly 90 satellite camps. Almost a third dies as a result of catastrophic conditions, forced labour, hunger and violence.
