yellow pansy

The lovely clear yellow face of Viola x wittrockiana, commonly called the pansy. Suitable for pots, patio tubs, beds, borders, hanging baskets etc., they begin flowering in late winter, continuing through spring and into summer, but it is essential to dead-head the spent flowers, as flower quantity and quality decline if they go to seed. The flowers are edible, making an attractive and amusing addition to children's salads. Prone to mildew late summer.
