The most important of these springs, ina medical view, are the McAllister, Glen Flora, andPowells, each of which claims advantages peculiarly its own. The city has three schools with twentyteachers, nine churches, two public halls, and threehotels. Deep Lake, 15 miles north, has summerhotel, Libertyville, 10 miles off, Wauconda, 21miles, Antioch, 20 miles, MUburne, 12 miles, andLTainsville, 12 miles distant, are reached by largest evergreen tree nursery in the UnitedStates, is within the city limits of Waukegan. Glen Flora, nearly one mile north of Wauke-gan, is so intimately connected therewith, that wemust treat it as a portion of that city. Let us mention here, that we have no intentionof detracting from the merits of other wateringplaces; our only desire is to show, by a fair andcandid comparison, that we have, within thirty-fivemiles of Chicago, all the attractions, and valuable.
