Steroid acne
Steroid acne on the shoulder of a Hispanic male patient. Steroid acne is acne caused by the use of corticosteroids (in this case prednisone). As with the most common form of acne, acne vulgaris, pustules and comedones form on the skin. Treatment is with topical anti-acne drugs and antibiotics, or where possible discontinuation of steroid use.
