Only the last named was bythe second marriage. ( Y) Ebenezer Goodwin was born in New Hart-ford May 29, 1743, and in 1762 he received from hisgrandfather, William Gaylord, fifty-seven acres ofland in the town of New Hartford, Litchfield Co.,Conn., whither he removed, becoming one of itsleading citizens. He was a member of the commit-tee of inspection in 1775 and 1776; and a memberof the Ecclesiastical Society from 1780 to 1796. Hemarried Anne Webster, daughter of Isaac Webster,of West Hartford. He died May 18, 1810, and shedied Jan. 8, 1835. They had twelve children, names. He followed farming in that town during hisactive business career, and with two exceptions sleptin the same room every night throughout life. Hesang in the church choir for over sixty years. In1801 he married -Miriam Gilbert, a daughter ofJoseph Gilbert, of Litchfield. She died Dec. 11,1821, and on Dec. 25, 1822, he married JerushaFyler, a daughter of Ulysses Fyler, of Torrington,Con
