During the past year vocational work for prisoners in the state roadcamps has been extended. The work of the Director of Education andReligion at San Quentin, now includes the road camps. Librarieswhich, in cases are branches of the county libraries, have also beenestablished in all the camps. ]\Iuch care is in the selection ofbooks sent to these road camp libraries and only the better class readingmatter is allowed.
