He left Castle Bock about the same time that Boy Gardner, the mail train bandit, arrived at that town. Just coincidence. Frank Chervenka, of the Woodland Park Floral Co., Sumner, Wash., visited his old haunts for a few days last week. Earl Aldrich, representing the M. Bice Co., Philadelphia, has been making the rounds of the local trade, prepara- tory to a trip through his territory, which includes all the Pacific coast states. C. B. S. SAN FBANCISCO, CAI- The Market. Local retailers report business as all that can be expected for this time of the year and some say that orders are running somewhat above former June averages, but a surplus of stock makes the situation rather depressing for the wholesalers and growers. It is decid- edly a buyers' market, with quantities of good, medium and poor stock to be had at almost any price. Some improve- ment is expected shortly, however, as the rose crop is starting to go off a lit- tle and cooler weather will check the great abundance of miscellaneous out- door summer flowers. Another week or ten days will prob- ably see good roses greatly reduced in supply, their exit being hastened by the hot spell of weather earlier in the month. Premier is getting considerable support in the local market, but some of the large retailers have not been won over entirely to it yet, claiming that it does not hold up so
