Prince William at Cambridge Airport on the first day of his new job as a helicopter pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance
Prince William at Cambridge Airport on Monday 13th July on the first day of his new job as a helicopter pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Prince William started working as a fully-trained air ambulance pilot today (Mon), after completing his year-long training. The Duke of Cambridge was photographed this morning as he began his first shift for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. The Prince is based at Cambridge International Airport and will be co-piloting a helicopter, flying patients to hospital in emergencies in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. In common with all other East Anglian Air Ambulance pilots, he is formally employed by Bond Air Services and will draw a salary which he will donate to charity. The job is now the Duke's primary occupation, but his roster will also take into account the duties and responsibilities he will continue to undertake on behalf of the Queen. Prince William started his training for his Air Transport Pilot's Licence (Helicopter) last September, which culminated in 14 exams and a flight test.
