A mother pays for her family's groceries using the Edy-card wallet function of her mobile telephone, in a supermarket in Tokyo, Japan. The Edy-card lets you charge credit onto your mobile telephone which can then be used in a variety of stores to pay for goods via touching the telephone against a pad beside the cash register. A similar application which allows you to do the same is called 'Suica-card'.
