Jackal buzzard (Buteo rufofuscus), also known as the Augur buzzard. This medium-sized bird of prey is found in mountainous regions in southern Africa. It feeds on small mammals, birds and snakes. Nests are made on ledges or high in trees. B. rufofuscus makes loud yelping calls, similar to those of a jackal, hence its name. Photographed in Tanzania
