Oberstdorf, the Catholic parish church of St. Johannes Baptist, stands on the market square in the town center. The 66 m high pointed church tower is the highest in the upper Illertal valley. Four altars adorn the church. In the choir are the high altar and the altar of the people. In the nave on the left is the Pentecost altar and on the right the Christmas altar
