Robin assumes, in the extremities of the gland-ular follicles becoming liberated from their epithelial attachment bypost-mortem change, and which find in analogy an apparent corrobora-tion in the condition of the membrane as observed in the uterinecornua of some mammalia. During pregnancy, the epithelium becomestransformed; it loses all trace of the vibratile cilia, and the cells arechanged from the columnar to the pavement variety.
