This species is more uniform and lirighter ruddy beneath than the preceeding,and the back is not marbled as strongly. Even in Alaska where it breeds, it isnot a common species, and it occurs elsewhere on the Pacific coast of Amer-ica casually. The nesting habits are the same, but the eggs are somewhatdarker than those of the preceding, liut not as dark as those of the followingspecies. Size x
