War Council of generals in 1799. Presided over by bailiff Valdés, condemned José de Córdova y Ramos de Garay (1732-1815) to the loss of rank after the defeat of the Spanish Armada at the Battle of Cape St Vincent (14 February 1797). He was accused of failing to prevent the union of Jervis and Parker with the consequent defeat and destruction of part of their fleet. Engraving.
